Srinagar: Police here have registered a case against a Budgam resident for sharing a fake video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, officials said.
Following the complaint of BJP leader Altaf Thakur, a case was again registered against Mohammad Ilyas Hussain Mir at Magam police station in Budgam.
"You are informed that a mischievous person named Ilyas Mi Magami @magamilias has uploaded a dubbed and fake video of Shri Amit Sha saying that the Center is going to end the reservation of SC and ST people in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the police, what Thakur has written in his complaint is completely baseless and beyond the facts.
"I request you to take immediate action against the person and arrest him for spreading misinformation as this act is likely to create resentment among the SC and ST community of Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
