Gurugram: A college student died here while his two friends were seriously injured after their car collided with a flyover divider and fell 50 feet on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway. The police gave this information on Tuesday.

He said that the car was badly damaged in the accident and the injured are being treated at Medanta Hospital here.

According to the police, the accident happened around 10 pm on Monday night when three youths were traveling in a car from Delhi towards Jaipur.

As soon as the car reached the Jharsa Chowk flyover, Rishabh Guleria, who was sitting on the driver's seat, lost control of the vehicle. Police said that the car jumped from the four feet high divider of the flyover and fell into the empty space 50 feet below.

He told that even after the airbags of the car opened, three youths traveling in the car were seriously injured.

Police said that the injured three were taken out of the car and admitted to Medanta Hospital, where Guleria (22), resident of Sector 17, died during treatment on Monday night.

He told that his friends Kamal Sehrawat (23) and Naman (18) are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

According to the police, Guleria was a student of KR Mangalam University located on Sohna Road, Sehrawat is studying law from Amity University and Naman is also a college student.

The investigating officer of the case said that Sehrawat said in his statement to the police that he had left Sukhrali at around 9.30 pm and was going to Manesar.

Sehrawat said that Guleria was driving the car when he lost control of the vehicle and the car collided with the divider, after which all the passengers became unconscious.

The official said Guleria's body was handed over to his family after postmortem on Tuesday.
