Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday demanded the removal of the Pune Police Commissioner in connection with a car accident allegedly involving a 17-year-old boy, in which two people died.



Speaking to reporters, Raut alleged that the police gave a false report regarding the incident and wondered whom the Pune police chief was trying to save.

According to officials, the Porsche car, allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy, who police claim was drunk at the time, hit two motorcyclists in the Kalyani Nagar area of ​​Pune city in Maharashtra early Sunday. He hit him, which led to his death. ,

The accused teenager was later produced before the Juvenile Justice Boar, from where he was granted bail after a few hours. It also directed him to visit the regional transport office and study the traffic rules and submit a presentation to the Boer within 15 days.Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar on Tuesday said that they have detained the girl's father from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

According to another official, Pune police have also arrested three officials of two hotels for serving liquor to teenagers.



Raut said, "The Pune Police Commissioner should be dismissed. Who has he helped in this case? Two innocent people lost their lives. The boy can be seen drinking alcohol in the pub.,

“This is a corrupt police system and a corrupt MLA,” he claimed without elaborating.

"Who is the police commissioner trying to save? You are giving a false report," the Rajya Sabha member alleged.

Police had registered a case against the teen's father, a real estate developer, under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act and against the owners and staff members of the bar establishments for serving liquor to an underage person.

An officer had earlier said that investigation into these cases has been transferred to the crime branch.

Section 75 deals with "willfully neglecting a child, or exposing a child to mental or physical illness", while Section 77 deals with supplying intoxicating liquor or drugs to a child.According to the police, a case has been registered against the teenager under Indian Penal Code section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Pune Police on Monday said they will approach the High Court for permission to try the teenager involved in the accident as an adult.
