Addressing the inaugural session of the two-day national seminar on 'Awareness Program on Natural Farming' at Swami Keshavanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, the Governor said, "There is a need to adopt natural farming for a clean environment. Land is depleting due to the use of chemical fertilizers and their indiscriminate use is also increasing the number of incurable diseases like cancer.

Stating that 50 years ago no one used chemical fertilizers, the Governor said, "Their use started due to circumstances. Today, these fertilizers have many side effects. Efforts should be made to ensure that the village Water should remain in the village." It is the villages for which water conservation should be given top priority.”

"There was a time when we did not have enough food to feed 40 crore people of the country. But our food producers worked very hard. Today, even after feeding 140 crore countrymen, our food stocks are full every time. "

Speaking on the occasion, Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that agriculture and farmer welfare are the top priorities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The minister also talked about the ill effects of chemical farming, saying, "We have to return to natural farming."

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Chaudhary said that natural farming is our oldest method which maintains the natural form of the land.

He said, "Chemical fertilizers and pesticides are not used in natural farming. Today, due to indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers, the fertility of the land is being affected. To maintain human existence, we have to return to natural farming."
