While directing that the case will be investigated by the detective department of Bidhannagar City Police, a single-judge bench of Justice Amrita Sinha also directed the police to ensure complete security of the said restaurant owner Anisul Alam.

Justice Sinha gave this order in view of Alam's petition in which he had accused the celebrity MLA of threatening him after the incident of assault that took place on the night of June 7.

He also ordered that the investigation be conducted by an Assistant Police Commissioner rank officer.

The next hearing on the case is to be held on July 4.

On Thursday, Chakraborty got anticipatory bail from a district court in Barasat in North 24 Parganas district.

Chakraborty was captured on camera beating Alam inside his restaurant premises on the night of June 7. Later, the actor-turned-politician claimed that he hit Alam for making derogatory remarks against Trinamool general secretary and Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee.

However, Alam denied the allegation and accused Chakraborty of dragging Abhishek Banerjee's name to hide his crime.

According to Alam, the dispute started when he asked Chakraborty's driver and bodyguards to remove the actor's car which was wrongly parked in the parking lot.
