Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Thursday said it will hear on July 10 the defamation case filed by West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Bose had filed the defamation case against Banerjee on June 28, a day after he claimed that women had complained to him that they were afraid to go to the Raj Bhavan.

His lawyer Dheeraj Trivedi mentioned the matter before the court of Justice Krishna Rao, which on Wednesday adjourned the case for an early hearing date.

The court said that it will hear the matter again on July 10.

Noting that the suit was filed on the basis of news reports, Justice Krishna Rao told Bose's counsel that the publications referred to in the suit were not made parties to it.

Justice Rao adjourned the matter giving liberty to the petitioner to take appropriate steps in this regard.
