The deceased was identified as Johar Abbas, resident of Buland Masjid area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Joy Tirkey said that at 11.50 pm. Information about the stabbing incident was received on Thursday, after which a police team reached the spot.
The police team found that Johar Abbas had been stabbed multiple times with a knife on his forehead, wrist, chest and other parts.
"He was taken to JPC hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Efforts are being made to ascertain the motive and nab the accused," the DCP said.
