New York: India captain Rohit Sharma has termed Jasprit Bumrah as a genius and wants his lethal weapon to perform at the same level throughout the duration of the T20 World Cup.
Bumrah was brilliant in India's six-run win over Pakistan, defending a modest total of 119 on Sunday, taking 3 for 14 in four overs, which included an astonishing 15 dot balls.
"He (Bumrah) is getting stronger and stronger. We all know what he can do. Won't talk too much about him.,
Rohit praised one of India's greatest ever fast bowlers, saying, "We want him to be in the same mindset throughout the World Cup. He is talented, we all know that."
Rohit said that India were confident that they would win the match because the pitch was not conducive for batting.
"With this kind of bowling line-up you feel confident to do the job. At the half stage when they were batting, we called everyone together and said if it can happen to us, it can happen to them." Can happen together also.,
However, the captain admitted that he should have batted better at one point after being 89 for three.
Rohit said about losing 7 wickets for 28 runs, "We did not bat well. We were in a good position till half of our innings. We did not make enough partnerships there and missed the batting."
“We talked about the issue of every run on a pitch like this.There was a lot on the pitch. “To be honest, it was a good wicket compared to the last game.”

Since it was a two-paced wicket, the idea was to hit the seam and get some lateral pace, Bumrah said.
"Trying to hit the seam as much as I could, try to make my execution as clear as I could and everything went well so I felt happy," he said.,
Both Rohit and Bumrah acknowledged the overwhelming support they received at the Nassau Cricket County Ground.
“It felt like we were playing in India, really happy with the support and it gives us energy on the field. We focus on right now.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam believes that the 59 dot balls he conceded during the chase became the turning point.
"We bowled well. In batting, we kept losing wickets and conceded too many dot balls. Then, we could not perform well in the first six matches," he said.
When asked about the strategy, Babar said that it is about playing normal cricket."Normally the strategy to play was simple. Just strike rotation and the odd boundary. But in that period, we had a lot of dot balls. Not much can be expected from tail-enders."
While many felt the ball was not coming onto the bat, Babar had the opposite view on the surface."The pitch looked good. The ball was coming well. It was a bit slow and some of the balls had extra bounce," he said.
Pakistan will have to win by big margins against Canada and Ireland to enter the Super Eight stage and hope that the United States does not defeat either Ireland or India.
