Tarn Taran (Punjab) [India], Border Security Force (BSF) troops recovered a China-made drone in Punjab's Tarn Taran on Sunday, officials said.

"On the morning of 9 June 2024, BSF Intelligence Wing shared information about the presence of a drone in a field near the border area of ​​Tarn Taran district. BSF troops immediately responded and conducted an intensive search operation in the suspected area." Punjab Frontier Border Security Force said in a statement.

During the search operation at around 10:30 am, BSF personnel successfully recovered a small drone. He said that the recovery took place in a field adjacent to CB Chand village in Tarn Taran district.

According to the Punjab Frontier Border Security Force, "the recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI MAVIC 3 Classic drone."

"Credible inputs and alert action by BSF troops foiled another attempt of drone infiltration from across the border," the BSF said in a statement.

On June 7, the Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted a Pakistani drone on the outskirts of Ghoga village in Punjab's Amritsar district, an official statement said.

According to an official BSF release, the flying object was an assembled hexacopter, which was recovered in a broken condition.

The release said, "Vigilant BSF troops intercepted a suspicious flying object on the night of June 7 and rapidly monitored its movements to estimate its dropping zone. Subsequently, the dropping zone was cordoned off and A massive search operation was conducted by BSF troops." ,

Earlier, on June 5, a Bangladeshi national was arrested for attempting to cross the border illegally in Baruakandi village of Dharmanagar in Tripura North on Wednesday night, the BSF said.
