Alleging that the Congress has once again betrayed the farmers, BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao appealed to party workers to organize protests in all constituencies.

The former Chief Minister recalled the promise of the Congress government that after the parliamentary elections it would give a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal for paddy, but now Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is saying that the bonus will be given only for good quality paddy. "Betrayal of farmers".

KCR, as Chandrashekhar Rao is popularly called, said that 90 per cent of farmers who do not grow good quality paddy will be deprived of the bonus and after the voting Congress has again betrayed the farmers.

He said that if the government had made this announcement before the elections, the farmers would have taught it a lesson.

He said the Congress government has failed to provide investment assistance to farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme, which was implemented by the previous BR government. The Congress government has also failed to implement the Rath Bharosa scheme, under which it had promised to increase investment support.

Earlier, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao demanded that the Congress step aside from politics and focus on administration as the Lok Sabha elections are over. He demanded that the state government expedite the procurement of paddy, as farmers had started harvesting about 25-30 days ago and were waiting for procurement.

He said the government should also initiate measures to prevent paddy procurement without removing the wastage of 3-3.5 kg per quintal and ensure justice to farmers for their produce.
