Jaipur, Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau has raided the residences of Dudu District Collector and a village level revenue officer for allegedly demanding bribe in a land conversion case. An official gave this information on Saturday.

It is alleged that Collector Hanuman Mal Dhaka and Patwari Hansraj had demanded a bribe of Rs 25 lakh.

Bureau officials said the raid, conducted on a complaint, ended late Friday night.

The complainant has alleged that Dhaka and Hansraj had demanded a bribe of Rs 25 lakh for not taking action against him in the land conversion case, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Deputy Inspector General Ravi said in a statement. He told that the complainant has 204 bighas of land.

Ravi said, the complainant claimed that when he told that he did not have the demanded amount, he was assured that no action would be taken if he could pay Rs 1 lakh.

In the process of verification of the complaint, the "victim" wearing a recorder met the collector at his residence, Dak Bungalow, and it was clear that Dhak had demanded a bribe of around Rs 7.5 lakh, the DIG said.

Ravi said that a case has been registered against Dhaka and Hansraj under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
