SAO PAULO - Teenage striker Andrique has won another title with Brazilian club Palmeiras before joining Real Madrid.

Andrique, 17, helped his team clinch its third consecutive Sao Paul state championship with a 2-0 win over local rivals Santos on Sunday.

Andrique, who had scored twice for Brazil in friendlies last month, drew his fifth penalty as Rafael Veiga opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, with Aníbal Moreno adding the second in the 67th. Santos won the first leg 1–0.

“I know I am in a new generation, I have been through a lot. I dream of becoming a role model for all children,” Andrique said after winning the title with Palmeiras. “I know it's difficult because there are people who don't like me but I want to be a new role model for them. I want them to look at me and think that if I'm successful in being here, they can do the same."

Andrique was also part of the Palmeiras team that won the 2023 São Paulo Championship title and the 2022 and 2023 Brazilian Championships.

He will have just over two months left at Palmeiras before moving to Spain on a lucrative deal with Real Madrid.

During his stint with the national team for friendlies against England and Spain, Andrić said he was regularly asked about his pending move.

“Vinny Jr. and Rodrigo asked when I was going to arrive. Lucas Paqueta and also Brun Guimarães, everyone was asking when I was going to Madrid,'' he said. "I know I'm supposed to leave, but my head is still here."

Andrić was also grateful to Palmeiras, where he played in the youth divisions.

He said, "Palmeiras was the team that believed in me when I had nothing. This title belongs to all the staff, all the employees and all the fans of Palmeiras."
