"Siddharth has done very well. He plays a vital role with the new ball. He has shown great spirit and has given us a chance to bowl consistently in the first two overs. He has taken wickets, but his job is to restrict the runs." " " said the LS captain.GT captain Shubman Gill admitted that it was a poor effort from their side while chasing the score.
"I think it was a good wicket to bat on. It was a poor batting performance from us. We had a good start but we lost it in the middle overs and we never recovered from that," Gill said.
However, Gill was happy to see that GT bowlers restricted LSG to 163.
“I think our bowlers were exceptional in restricting them to that score.We were looking at a score of 170-180 but it was a tremendous effort to stop them."
Fast bowler Yash Thakur (5/30) was named player of the match for his five-for and he picked Gill's wicket as his favorite wicket.
He said, "I am very happy with my first five-wicket haul and my first POTM award. We had plans for Gill... we had two fielders on the leg side. So, we knew he would try to make space " Said."(KL) Rahul bhaiya told me to stick to my plans and we will get wickets that way. So, today Shubman's wicket is my favourite," Thakur said."
