Monte Carlo: India's Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden lost to Croatia's Mate Pavic and El Salvador's Marcel Arévalo in their men's doubles round of 16 match at the Monte Carlo Masters here on Wednesday.

They lost 3-6, 6-7 (6-8).

Bopanna and Ebden fell behind early in the first set and could not recover. In the second set, the Indo-Australian pair looked to be making a comeback of sorts, but their opponents played very well and won the tie-breaker.

Indian tennis star Sumit Nagal was trailing in his second round men's singles match against Denmark's Holger Roon when the match was postponed due to rain.

Unseeded Nagal lost the first set 3-6 and when the skies opened up, he was trailing 1-2 against seventh seed Roon.

Holger was dominating the match until the rain stopped.

The 36-year-old Nagal entered the match enjoying great form.
