A one-line notice from Shiv Sena secretary Sanjay More said that Rajesh Shah has been relieved from the post of deputy leader of the party.

However, Shah still remains a member of Shiv Sena.

The opposition has strongly criticized the army over the incident that took the life of a woman.

A BMW car driven by Mihir Shah allegedly hit a two-wheeler in Worli area of ​​south-central Mumbai on Sunday morning, killing pillion rider Kaveri Nakhwa (45) while her husband Pradeep was injured. , the police have said.

Police had said that Shah, an army leader from nearby Palghar district, actively ensured Mihir's escape after the car accident. He is currently out on bail.

The CCTV footage presented by the police in the court on Monday revealed shocking details of the accident.

The footage shows Kaveri Nakhwa being dragged by the BMW for 1.5 kilometers before the car stops. Mihir and his driver Rajrishi Bidawat pulled the woman from the bonnet, made her lie down on the road and exchanged seats. While reversing the car, Bidawat crushed the victim before fleeing.

Mihir Shah was arrested on Tuesday. A Mumbai court has extended Bidawat's police custody till July 11 in the case.
