Mihir Shah was allegedly driving the BMW car that fatally ran over Kaveri Nakhwa (45) and injured her husband Pradeep while the couple was traveling on their two-wheeler in Mumbai's Worli area on Sunday morning, police said. .

CCTV footage produced by police in court during the day showed Kaveri Nakhwa being dragged by the car for 1.5 kilometres. The footage showed Mihir Shah and co-accused Rajrishi Bidawat pulling the woman off her bonnet, placing her on the road and then attacking her again as they reversed the luxury vehicle.

According to police, Mihir Shah took the car to Kalanagar in Bandra, abandoned the vehicle in the presence of Bidawat, took another car and fled to Borivali in the northern end of the metropolis.

According to the investigation so far, Mihir was partying with four friends at a bar in Juhu till early Sunday morning, after which he and his driver headed towards south Mumbai.
