Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Bhadohi Lok Sabha constituency, which is scheduled to go to polls in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections on 25 May, is one of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. BJP candidate from Bhadohi is Vinod Kumar Bind. He is currently the MLA from Majhawan Assembly constituency of Uttar Pradesh and is contesting against Lalitesh Pat Tripathi of Trinamool Congress. Lalitesh is the son of former UP Chief Minister Kamala Pati Tripathi. Tripathi has the support of both SP and Congress. Bhadohi, a general category Parliament seat, consists of five assembly constituencies – Pratappur, Handia, Bhadohi, Gyanpur and Aurai.It may be a difficult task for Congress to win in Bhadohi, because BJP was victorious in the last two Lok Sabha elections. In the 2009 Lok Sabha election, Bahujan Samaj Party won the seat. In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, BJP's Ramesh Chand got 510,029 votes (49. per cent), while BSP's Ranganath Mishra came second with 466,414 votes (44.9 per cent). Congress's Ramakant got 25,604 votes (2.5 percent) and stood third. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP's Virendra Singh Bind got 40354 votes (41.1 percent), while BSP's Rakesh Dhar Tripathi got 245505 votes (25.0 percent). Samajwadi Party's Seema Mishra got 238,615 votes (24. percent). In 2009, BSP's Gorakhnath was victorious while SP's Chhotalal Bind came third. Suryamani Tiwari of Congress stood third.Bhadohi, a small town in UP, is known worldwide for its carpet industry. On 16 May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while campaigning for Vinod Kumar, praised the BJP for all the development work done in Uttar Pradesh and the area around Bhadohi and also mentioned the carpet industry. He had said, "The number of railway lines in Bhadohi has doubled. For the first time, development has taken place in Bhadohi and the entire area. Farmers will get the benefit of these works. The carpet industry of the area will also benefit. Bhadohi carpets are also there in the new Parliament House. Bhadohi has been placed on top in the list of One District, One Product... The weavers of Bhadohi, with an annual turnover of Rs 40,000 crore, say that the One District One Product scheme has been beneficial for them and with the return of the BJP government. They will get more help. Hand-woven carpets in Bhadohi, known as Carpet City, are in huge demand in the international market.Carpet businessman Brijesh Kumar Gupta had told ANI. , "It is a business of Rs 40 thousand crore and it is likely to grow further... Now International Expo Mart has made a lot of difference because the buyers charge that we are going to a party where the product is made and we are seeing the reality. They are feeling comfortable if there is no middleman in between. “Road infrastructure, airports – everything has been built, it has doubled since the formation of the Modi government. Ten years ago the condition of the roads was bad. South African citizens are big fans of Modi ji... Some American customers have stopped everyone and international buyers are coming due to bad roads. Expo Mart has become a big source.. The carpet industry is continuously progressing..'' Meanwhile, Lalitesh Pati Tripathi took to his official X handle to hit out at the BJP over unemployment.And says, “Youth have to choose job creators, not paper leakers!” This is a fight to give rights to those parents who sacrifice their own needs to raise their children! Our objective is to provide livelihood resources to every youth. Appealing to the people to vote for Congress, Tripathi said, "The government which I am developing other places at the expense of the people of Bhadohi, will fall on May 25!" May 25 is the date to remove the government which is giving step-motherly treatment to MNREGA workers.'' The recruitment process for government jobs will start not in two years but within two months. It is noteworthy that in Uttar Pradesh, which has sent the maximum 80 MPs, voting will be held in Bhadohi, Sultanpur in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 25 in all seven phases.
