Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], Union Minister and BJP Jharkhand Assembly poll in-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday alleged that the Jharkhand government is corrupt and has not fulfilled the promises made during the elections.

This was stated by the Union Minister in a press conference on Sunday. He spoke about the party's preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand, which aimed to free Jharkhand from bad governance.

Talking about BJP's action plan for the upcoming elections, Chouhan said, "Now we want to make Jharkhand free from bad governance. In this regard, we have had long discussions and meetings. To achieve this goal, the entire team will work under the leadership “Babulal Marandi Ji and Hemanta Ji have come to support this team. "The level of confidence we have detected in the party workers proves that the BJP will win the upcoming assembly elections."

Talking about the 2024 election results, Shivraj said, "This is a democracy where we win some seats and lose some. But overall, the BJP has acquired maximum vote share with higher vote share."

Mocking the ruling JMM-Congress government in the state, the Jharkhand assembly election in-charge termed the ruling Jharkhand government as 'ghatiya' and said, "In the entire nation, the Jharkhand government is the most corrupt government and the worst".

"I won't go into long discussions today, but still, the promises they made, they never kept. They promised government jobs, did they provide offer letters? They talked about providing 'unemployment subsidies', did they initiate anything about this?" "The looting that is happening in Jharkhand has never been seen before," he added.

Asked about the money allocated to Jharkhand, the Union Minister said, "When I was assessing the amount of money allocated by the Ministry of Rural Development to Jharkhand, it was around Rs 21,055 crore in different schemes. For the MGNREGA scheme , the department had allocated Rs.1,111 crore. But where did all the money go? Did they successfully implement the MGNREGA scheme in the state?

He further mentioned, "They looted the state in every aspect, be it sand, coal or minerals. We are not going to go deep, but we will definitely talk openly about their corruption."

Praising his own party, Chouhan said: "Jharkhand is heading towards destruction but the solution is the Bharatiya Janata Party and therefore all party workers and leaders will make every effort to make the BJP successful in the state and form a government to establish good governance in the state. The government will be formed to fulfill Narendra Modi's Ji resolution of a 'Developed India' (Vikshit Bharat) by making Jharkhand developed (Vikshit Jharkhand).”

He also expressed his gratitude to the public of Jharkhand for making the NDA victory in nine out of 14 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Expressing his gratitude, Chouhan stated, "It is the destiny of the country that Hon'ble Narendra Modi Ji is elected Prime Minister of the country for the third consecutive term. This has happened after 1962. Jharkhand has played an important role in the NDA's mandate to elect Prime Minister and form government. I want to express my gratitude to all the party workers in the state.”

Shivraj Singh Chouhan further stated, "Today, under the leadership of Babulal Marandi Ji, we have also decided to facilitate all the party workers with their winning stand. This is a great success."

Earlier in the day, Union Minister and Jharkhand Assembly Election Incharge Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand Assembly Election Co-Incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting to discuss strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Chouhan and Sarma planted trees at ICAR, Namkum campus and Lichi Bagan in Hatia area of ​​Ranchi, respectively, as part of the party's 'Ek ped maa ke naam' campaign.

Apart from Jharkhand, Haryana, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir will also undergo Assembly elections.

The terms of the current Jharkhand Legislative Assembly will end in January 2025 and the Election Commission (EC) has started preparations for holding Assembly elections.
