New Delhi [India], Amid the water crisis in the national capital, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala on Wednesday criticized the Aam Aadmi Party, accusing the party of incompetence and blaming their "mismanagement" for the current situation in Delhi. .

Poonawalla's comments come after the Supreme Court recently probed the way the AAP government handled the water crisis.

"After the liquor scam, we are seeing the water scam by AAP. This is the water tanker mafia scam that the Aam Aadmi Party is doing. The Supreme Court today has exposed them, their propaganda, their drama, but they have hit home- Instead of providing water to the house, Poonawala told ANI, “There is no problem in water supply in every locality.Stop making excuses. The incompetence and corruption of the Aam Aadmi Party is the reason why Delhi has been facing water crisis for the last several weeks and months."

"SC said there is no problem in water supply. SC asked why water is going through tanker mafia. Why are you not taking action against them?... It is clear that AAP is incompetent. ..Do they have any connection with the water tanker mafia?...AAP leaders are making deals with the water tanker mafia and selling water to the people at the highest price.,

The Supreme Court on Tuesday questioned the Delhi government over tanker mafia and wastage of water in the national capital and asked the AAP government to file an affidavit about the steps taken to stop wastage of water in the national capital.

A vacation bench of Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Prasanna B Varale took strong exception to the tanker mafia in the national capital and asked the Delhi government as to what action it has taken against the tanker mafia. The bench also said that if the Delhi government cannot take any action against the tanker mafia, then it will ask the Delhi Police to take action against the tanker mafia.

Over the past week, Delhi has faced acute water shortage, disrupting the daily lives of residents.

The crisis has been triggered by a combination of low water levels in the Yamuna river and technical problems at major water treatment plants. Due to this disruption, water supply has become very low in many areas, forcing people to depend on tankers and borewells.
