Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday said the BJP's below-expected performance in the Lok Sabha elections is the result of the saffron party's politics of hate and false promises allegedly made to the people during the last 10 years.

Owaisi, who won from Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat for the fifth consecutive time, said that in case Narendra Modi does not become Prime Minister for the third time, he will support him if needed.

“We have publicly taken the stand that we will stop the BJP,” he told reporters here.

Owaisi felt that BJP would not be able to achieve the magical figure of 272 on its own, although the counting of votes was still going on.

According to the latest figures of the Election Commission, BJP is winning 240 seats.

He claimed that people are fed up with BJP's politics of hate and youth are frustrated with unemployment in the country and farmers are also troubled. He said that people who love the Constitution feel that Modi's call of '400 par' (more than 400 Lok Sabha seats) was meant to "abolish" the Constitution."The decision has come and if Modi ji forms the government now, he will have to come to Parliament with the support of his allies. It will be a good sight to see," he said. He said Modi should introspect on the results. ,

Owaisi congratulated Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Congress winning eight out of 17 seats in the state.

Claiming that BRS people openly supported the BJP in Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, he said it was a wrong political strategy of the regional party.Asked whether he would go with the India Bloc, he said his party was not a part of the alliance. "If such a situation comes that a non-BJP, non-NDA person comes forward to become the Prime Minister, we will definitely support. But, we do not know whether such a situation will come or not."

Owaisi thanked the voters, including women, youth and senior citizens, for electing him from the Hyderabad constituency.Owaisi defeated BJP's Madhavi Lata by a margin of more than 3.38 lakh votes.
