Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Bharatiya Janata Party MP Laxmikant Bajpai on Sunday met three victims of job fraud who were rescued from Uganda and brought back to India.

A total of seven victims had gone to Uganda for job, three of whom were rescued by the Indian Embassy in Uganda and sent back to India. The BJP MP said, the remaining four have not yet come to India.

Speaking to ANI on the incident, BJP MP Laxmikant Bajpai said, 'I received news that seven people from Meerut, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Roorkee and Patna had gone to Uganda in March to work in GM Sugar Industries and HK Sugar Industries. He was given only one month's salary and did not even have the means to eat. The blackmailers threatened that they would have to pay Rs 5 lakh to go to India otherwise they would burn those 7 people in a boiler."

"On this matter, I spoke to the External Affairs Minister (EAM) and with his help, after submitting the papers, embassy officials in Uganda reached out to these seven people. After several talks, it was decided that they all “Arranged food, accommodation and tickets for three persons and after getting the tickets, they were sent to India.”

Emphasizing about the remaining four persons, he said, "Talks are still going on about the remaining four persons. I have spoken to the Foreign Minister and embassy officials in Uganda. I also spoke to one of the four persons They are worried and stressed, I have appealed to the External Affairs Minister to bring them back to India."

Appealing to the public, Bajpayee said, "I appeal to the public to avoid going abroad just for money. In such cases when they suffer from cruelty, I advise them to avoid traveling abroad.
