Kolkata: A central BJP team visiting West Bengal on Tuesday faced opposition from its own party workers, who claimed that when they were displaced from their homes due to alleged post-poll violence in the state, seniors Leaders did not show sympathy, party sources said.

The incident took place in Amtala area of ​​Diamond Harbour, the Lok Sabha constituency of TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee, who is considered number two in the party hierarchy.

TMC claimed that the incident indicated that the leaders had become alienated from party workers.

A four-member team led by former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb is visiting West Bengal to assess the situation following the alleged violence by Trinamool Congress workers against BJP workers after the Lok Sabha elections.

BJP sources said the team convoy was stopped at Amtala in South 24 Parganas district by disgruntled party workers, who aired their grievances to the visiting leaders.Later in the day, the team visited Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district and spoke to locals from the area where TMC leaders were accused of sexual harassment and land-grabbing.

Speaking to reporters in Sandeshkhali, BJP central team member Brij Lal said the team is fully aware of the problems faced by party workers.

"There is no law and order in West Bengal. This is the information received by the team after visiting various places in the state during the last three days," he said.

Lal said that the team will submit its report to the top leadership of BJP.

He said, “If needed to restore law and order in West Bengal, we will approach the court.,

The team aims to meet party workers reportedly displaced from their homes due to alleged post-poll violence across West Bengal.

On Monday the team visited Cooch Behar, the northern part of the state.

Apart from Deb and Lal, senior BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Prasad and Kavita Patidar are members of the team.

Earlier, Deb had said that post-poll violence has become a habit for the Trinamool Congress after the election results.

Deb said, "The sooner TMC changes its stance of attacking opposition parties, the better it will be for the party."

Senior Trinamool Congress leader Shantanu Sen claimed that the protests by BJP workers show that the leaders are cut off from them.He suggested that complaints of post-poll violence by the BJP against TMC were nothing but a sham.
