Agartala: Former Tripura Chief Minister and BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday won the Tripura West Lok Sabha seat by defeating his nearest rival Ashish Kumar Saha of Congress by over six lakh votes.

Rajya Sabha MP Deb got 8,81,341 votes, while Saha got 2,69,763 votes.

BJP's Kriti Devi Debbarma, sister of Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Debbarma, won the state's other parliamentary seat - Tripura East.

According to the Election Commission website, he defeated his nearest rival Rajendra Reang of CPI(M) by 4,86,819 votes.

He got 7,77,447 votes while Reang got 2,90,628 votes.
