New Delhi: Congress on Monday alleged that BJP's "cross 400" slogan aims to change the Constitution and end reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed that the truth behind the "400 crossed" slogan is that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to change Baba Saheb Ambedkar's Constitution.

"This issue is being raised through proxy. He (Modi) does not say it himself, but many others keep saying it. What is the basic feature of Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution - social justice and social empowerment and SC (Scheduled Reservation for caste), Ramesh said in a video statement, ST (Scheduled Tribe) and backward classes according to their population. To end this, '400 Paar' (slogan) is being raised.

Earlier, Ramesh had intensified his attack on the Prime Minister over his "wealth distribution" comment in Rajasthan.

"The Prime Minister speaks poisonous language on many issues. He should also answer a simple question - since 1951, census has been conducted every 10 years. This reveals the real data of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe population. This should have happened in 2021 but it has not happened till date, why is the Prime Minister silent on this?” Ramesh said in a pose on X.

He alleged, this is a conspiracy to destroy the Constitution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.

The Congress stepped up its attack on the Prime Minister when he suggested that the party would redistribute people's wealth among Muslims if it comes to power and cited former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's comment that minorities had control over the country's resources. The community has the first claim.

Addressing a rally in Rajasthan's Banswara, Modi alleged that the Congress planned to give away people's hard-earned money and valuables to "infiltrators" and "those who have more children".

Congress on Monday said Modi has many new strategies to divert attention from real issues but the end of the "business of lies" is near.Late on Sunday night, it had hit back at Modi's comments, saying that after facing "disappointment" in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the Prime Minister has resorted to "lies" and "hate speech" to distract people from reality. . issues
