Bengaluru, The BJP in Karnataka on Thursday announced that it would lay siege to Vidhana Soudha, the state legislature headquarters and secretariat here, on July 15, to protest against the policies of the Congress government, terming it "anti-Dalit and anti-SC". ST".

The nine-day long monsoon session of the Karnataka Legislature is scheduled to begin on July 15.

This decision was taken at the meeting of party functionaries held here, chaired by BJP state unit president B Y Vijayendra and attended by Karnataka BJP co-in-charge Sudhakar Reddy among others.

"The Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka is anti-Dalit. They have swallowed money that should have been used for the ST community, and Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) funds that should have been used . for the welfare of SC/ST communities have been diverted into guarantee schemes," alleged BJP state general secretary Sunil Kumar.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the meeting here, he said, the assembled officials felt that this government has done great injustice to the SC/ST communities.

“The (previous) BJP government had increased reservation for these communities for their welfare, but the Congress government that came to power using the names of Dalits and STs is indulging in corruption with the money meant for the welfare of these communities.” "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is the captain of this and his entire Ministry agrees with this. It is a sorry state," he added.

The government should have worked for the welfare of SC/ST communities through its programs and schemes. But he is misusing funds meant for his welfare, Kumar alleged and termed the government "anti-Dalit" and "anti-SC/ST".

"This is the government of scams, with the MUDA scam, the Valmiki corporation scam, the SCSP TSP scam, the Department of Labor scam; this government has a chain of scams under its belt. This is a government of zero development," he said.

Condemning the government's policies, the gathering of BJP functionaries decided to lay siege to Vidhana Soudha on July 15, Kumar said.

"We appeal to the people and party workers of SC/ST communities to participate in this in large numbers. Condemning the Congress and Siddaramaiah's stand in laying siege to Vidhana Soudha, we will demand the Chief Minister's resignation and an apology. Dalits and SC/STs came to power in the name of these communities but misappropriated their funds," he said.

There will be a protest meeting at Freedom Park on July 15 involving BJP SC/ST morcha workers, leaders and public representatives, after which they will lay siege to Vidhana Soudha, he added.

Also, the BJP will hold a "mega" protest in Mysuru under the leadership of state party president B Y Vijayendra and leader of opposition in the Assembly R Ashoka on July 12 in connection with alleged fraudulent allotment of land to the land losers by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority. (MUDA), involving plots handed over to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi, Kumar said, "They will lay siege to the MUDA office there."

Noting that the BJP has led the upcoming by-elections to three Assembly seats and one Legislative Council seat, he said discussions were held in today's meeting on the action plan to win these by-elections.

He said executive meetings will be held before July 30 at the district and mandal levels to expand the organizational functioning of the party.

"The state government's anti-Dalit policies, scams and zero development policies must be brought to the people."
