Ghaziabad (UP), BJP MLA from Loni constituency Nand Kishore Gurjar has accused senior police officials of removing his security during the elections to keep him away from campaigning.

In a letter addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) of Uttar Pradesh on June 7, the MLA wrote that his security officers were removed by "their superiors" so that "I stay away from the election campaign and the BJP loses" Loni. He claimed that the move was a threat to his life and could lead to his assassination.

“A similar conspiracy was hatched against the honorable MLA of Muradnagar,” he claimed.

He accused the Police Commissioner of colluding with the opposition and providing security personnel to accused in murder, extortion and theft cases.

Without naming any police officer, the MLA wrote, "With the blessings of Mahadev, I remained safe despite threats from many fundamentalist countries and organizations."

The MLA claimed, "Till date the Police Commissioner has not spoken to me on this subject. The Police Commissioner told me that my security has been removed on the instructions of the Chief Minister and on the orders of the Additional Chief Secretary Home."

He claimed that the law and order situation in the district has been "ruined".

"In the unsafe environment, should I stay here or seek shelter in another state? Please inform and guide," the MLA asked in his letter.

Ghaziabad Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra could not be reached for comment.

BJP candidate Atul Garg won the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat by a margin of more than 3 lakh votes.
