New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Thursday met Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and demanded a probe into the "healthcare scam" of the AAP government under Chief Minister Arvind. Kejriwal.

In a statement, the BJP leader alleged that the AAP administration's "so-called world-class healthcare model" was a front and center of corruption.

"I have asked the LG to investigate the involvement of AAP leaders in these issues," Gupta said.

Responding to the BJP's allegations, the AAP said, "The BJP and its G-L are welcome to order all kinds of probes. There seems to be no department where they have not ordered a probe."

"With all the officers reporting to the LG and all of them under the control of the LG, and the PWD Secretary and Health Secretary being the LG's favorite officers, how did they allow this corruption of hundreds of millions of rupees?" the ruling party asked.

Gupta alleged that many of the 24 hospital construction projects, approved with an outlay of Rs 5,590 crore, remain incomplete, leading to skyrocketing costs.

The AAP said these files have not reached ministers for approval till date. "Why do officials deal with the files on their own and why does the LG not act against the secretary of disabled people or the secretary of health?" he asked.

The BJP MLA also claimed that the Delhi government has not utilized the funds provided by the Centre, particularly Rs 2,406 crore allocated under the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) to establish modern laboratories and ICU centers.

"To address this health scam under Kejriwal, the BJP legislative group, led by him, met the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) chief on August 22 and submitted all relevant documents," Gupta said.

The ACB has launched an investigation into the matter and the complaint has also been lodged with the Central Vigilance Commission, the BJP leader said.
