Jamshedpur: BJP's Jharkhand unit president Babulal Marandi's helicopter had to make an emergency landing at Sonari airport in Jamshedpur due to adverse weather on its way to Dumka.

After addressing an election meeting in Kharsawan of Seraikela-Kharsawan, the former CM of Jharkhand boarded a helicopter for Dumka. However, officials said heavy rain and strong winds in the area forced the pilot to divert the plane and make an emergency landing in Jamshedpur.

Upon landing, BJP's Jamshedpur Metropolitan Committee President Sudhanshu Ojha visited the airport along with other party leaders and inquired about their security.

Party spokesperson in Jamshedpur Prem Jha said Marandi will stay in the city overnight and will resume his journey to his destination on Friday.
