Sirsa (Haryana) [India], BJP leader Ashok Tanwar on Sunday expressed confidence in winning the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections and said the party is ready to form the government in the state under the leadership of Nayab Singh Saini for a third consecutive term.

"Yesterday, the Haryana BJP executive committee had a detailed meeting in Chandigarh. The Lok Sabha elections have just ended and we have a historic third term of Prime Minister Modi in which work like loan waiver is already being carried out to the farmers. The party is ready to form the Haryana government under the leadership of Nayab Singh Saini for the third consecutive term," Tanwar said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah unequivocally announced on Saturday that the BJP will not ally with any party in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections.

"Remove this doubt from your mind that we will go with anyone or take support from anyone; rather, we will form the BJP government with an absolute majority," Shah said.

In a post on X, the Home Minister said that in the last 10 years, Haryana has seen a new era of welfare and development for farmers and others.

"Today I interacted with the energetic workers of Haryana at the BJP executive meeting in Panchkula (Haryana). In the last 10 years, Haryana has seen a new era of welfare and development of farmers, the poor, the deprived and the backward, leaving behind the empire of cuts, commissions and corruption," he stated.

"Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, Haryana BJP workers are determined to go door to door and carry out an extensive public relations campaign to ensure that this time the BJP wins the state with a majority of two thirds." Amit Shah added.

In the 2019 Assembly elections, out of 90 seats, the BJP won 40 seats, the Congress won 31 seats and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) won 10 seats.

The BJP forms the government after forming an alliance with the JJP.

In 2014, the BJP won 47 seats, while the Congress was victorious in 15 seats.
