Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh), Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said the upcoming Lok Sabha elections are a fight between one ideology that wants to protect the Constitution and democracy, and another ideology that wants to destroy them.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Bastar village in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district, he also accused the BJP and RSS of attacking the religion, ideology and history of tribal communities in the country and reiterated the promise of conducting a caste census.

Gandhi alleged that President Draupadi Murmu was not allowed to attend the consecration of the Ra temple in Ayodhya because she is a tribal woman and it reflected the "mentality" of the saffron party.

This rally was organized in support of Congress candidate Kawasi Lakhma from Scheduled Tribe reserved Bastar Lok Sabha seat.

“Elections are coming and there is a fight between two ideologies. On one side there is the alliance of Congress and India which is to save democracy and the Constitution, and on the other side there is Narendra Modi, Adani, RSS.They are attacking the Constitution and democracy. They are trying to destroy the Constitution.”

He said, under Prime Minister Modi's government, only 22 businessmen have accumulated wealth equal to 70 crore Indians.

“Modi keeps supporting these 22-25 people 24 hours. Unemployment is increasing.” Go to any state and ask what are the biggest issues, everyone will tell you it is unemployment, inflation and 'bhagidari' (lack of participation in development),'' the Congress leader said, but the media never shows it. . Sometimes he is Modi, sometimes he is shown flying a plane, sometimes going into the sea and sometimes worshiping in a temple.

He also accused PM Modi of trying to change the word 'Adivasi', which is used to describe tribals. He said, 'We call you 'tribal', but they call us 'forest dweller'. There is a huge difference...the word tribal has a very deep meaning. This word expresses your right over 'water, forest, land', while 'Vanvasi' means people living in the forest.

Gandhi further claimed that those who use the term 'tribal' respect the religion, language, lifestyle and history of the tribals, while those who prefer the term 'forest dweller' do not feel that the tribals have any influence on India. Have any rights.

In the past, Congress-led governments brought in the Panchayat (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act (PESA), MNREGA and worked to oppose the rights of tribals, while "the BJP and the RSS attack your religion, ideology, language and history." Are." Was accused .

"The forest area in the country is shrinking. The BJP is giving forest land to billionaires like Adani. A day will come when there will be no forests left in India, then the BJP and the RSS will tell you that you are forest dwellers, and I am," he said. There is no jungle there, you don't belong anywhere, this is their mentality.

Gandhi alleged that when the Ram temple was inaugurated in Ayodhya in January this year, President Murmu was told that she could not attend it. They stopped him because he is tribal.Modi gave a message to the country that tribals will not be allowed. "His mentality is to attend the inauguration of the Temple of Ra."

Speaking about the election promises of the Congress, Gandhi said the caste census will be conducted as soon as the opposition alliance comes to power.

“If we come to power, we will recruit 30 lakh vacant government posts, do star apprenticeship for the youth. Youth will be given the right to apprenticeship before getting a job.All educated youth of India will get one year internship in government or private companies and will get permanent job with an annual stipend of Rs 1 lakh based on performance."

He also promised to end contract recruitment in government companies, waive off crop loans and ensure good prices for agricultural produce.

The Congress leader assured that women from the poor section of the society will get Rs 8,500 per month under the Mahalakshmi scheme and the honorarium of women working in Anganwadi schools will be doubled.
