Hyderabad (Telangana) [India] Madhavi Latha, who is contesting from Hyderabad as a BJP candidate, attacked the Congress-ruled state of Telangana over its alleged apathy in refurbishing local drains.

During her visit to Yakutpura assembly constituency on Sunday, Lata, while speaking to ANI, said, "This is Ganganagar in Yakutpura; this is the drain (drain) that carries waste water. I don't understand about the government; they It's a good thing that you want to do renovation. But what will happen to the people living here? If it rains during the renovation, the children may get dengue."

He also said that the government officials should make a plan after proper discussion, as the common people have to bear the brunt of it.

"How can you start other work without considering all these issues? Government officials should first sit and take decisions. The common people have to bear the brunt of this. We will not sit silent. We will go tomorrow and ask the officials whether the plan Is." This was so that drain water does not come into the houses. If they don't do so, we will take permission from the government and raise a wall,'' Lata said.

Earlier in the day, Madhavi Lata offered prayers at Somnath temple.

He is contesting from AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

In the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting was completed on all 17 seats of Telangana on 13 May. 65.67 percent voting took place in Telangana.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BRS (then TRS) won nine out of 17 seats, while BJP and Congress got four and three seats respectively.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections were held in seven phases over a period of 44 days running from April 19 to June 1.

Counting of votes and results will be declared on June 4.
