Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Hyderabad Madhavi Latha on Monday filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) against AIMIM chief and Hyderabad party candidate Asaduddin Owaisi. In a video that surfaced on social media, Owaisi is purportedly seen sparring with a butcher during his campaign in the Old City area. In the video, he was reportedly heard expressing support as well as encouraging the butchers to continue their profession by saying "Kaat te raho" in Urdu. For consumption of beef with the phrase "Beef Zindabad". Earlier today, AIMIM chief Owaisi addressed a public rally in support of party candidate Akhtarul Iman and said the Lok Sabha election is an election of the prestige of the people of Kisanganj.“This is an election for the prestige of the people of Kisanganj…this is an election for the prestige of Seemanchal and Kisanganj…so I have come here to appeal for AIMI candidate Akhtarul Iman, who gave everything to the poor,” he said. Earlier on Sunday, a resident of First Lancer, Hyderabad filed a complaint against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP candidate for Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency) Kompela Madhavi Latha following the controversy surrounding a video in which her expressions BJP candidate from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, which includes two Lok Sabha constituencies--Hyderabad--has emerged after the video of him shooting an arrow towards a mosque has surfaced. But voting will take place on May 13.Counting of votes is to take place on May 4. Owaisi, who has served four terms in the Lok Sabha as the elected representative from Hyderabad since 2004, was earlier elected twice as an MLA in the then undivided Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency consists of seven assembly constituencies – Bahadurpura, Chandrayangutta, Charminar, Goshamahal, Caravan, Malakpe and Yakatpura. All the assembly seats except Goshamahal are currently held by AIMIM. Since 1984, candidates from the Owaisi family or supported by them have been elected from Hyderabad, with Owaisi currently serving as a Lok Sabha member from the prestigious seat.
