Senior Congress leader Shrikant Jena on Tuesday claimed that though BJP and BJD are fighting against each other, people know that it is a "fixed match".

Former Union Minister Jena, who is contesting from Balasore, alleged that the farmers of the country are suffering and unemployment is increasing.

“There has been an agreement between BJD and BJP and they have been exposed,” he alleged. Even before the elections, people know that the match is fixed.

He claimed that the Narendra Modi government at the Center has failed to fulfill the promise of providing employment.

Jena said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who ruled Odisha for 25 years, had made the state "number 1 in poverty, unemployment and migration".

“The per capita income of the people of Odisha is the lowest in the entire country,” he claimed.

“On the other hand, some corporates have been allowed to plunder the precious mineral resources of Odisha,” he alleged.

Jena said that when he was the M of Balasore from 2009 to 2014, many development works were done here.

"Except the inauguration of the Marine Police Station, nothing happened from 2014 to 2024. A software technology park was set up in Balasore, but it did not become operational due to the apathy of both the state and the Centre," he said.
