The event is being organized by the National Center for Sports Science and Research (NCSSR) in collaboration with the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) from May 20 to 24 at the Karni Singh Shooting Range (KSSR) in the national capital. Through a combination of lectures, panel discussions and practical training sessions led by eminent sports scientists, high-performance trainers, shooting champions and administrators, the program promises to introduce participants to cutting-edge strategies and practical interventions.

Apart from India's Beijing Olympics gold medalists Bindra and Beauchamp, national shooting coaches Samaresh Jung and Raunak Pandit along with other champion players, coaches and administrators were present.

The certification, recognizing the important role sport psychology plays in the success of shooting athletes, aims to equip coaches and athletes with the essential mental training tools. This intensive program aims to bridge the existing gap in mental health support for high-performance athletes in the shooting disciplines.

The program also explains how shooters can develop techniques to effectively manage psychological barriers, optimize their performance on the range, maintain composure under pressure, and facilitate peak performance during critical moments.
