Patna, Bihar government on Tuesday said school teachers who fail to attend mandatory in-service residential training before June 30 will not be entitled to the next annual increment on their salaries.

The state education department also directed all district education officers (DEOs) not to issue fresh transfer orders to school teachers until the posting process of the recently recruited 1.87 lakh 'exclusive teachers' is completed.

Panchayat teachers or 'employed' teachers, who have passed their qualifying examination, are called 'Specialized Teachers' in Bihar and have the status of regular government employees.

In a letter, S Siddhartha, additional chief secretary, education department, on Tuesday directed DEOs to identify teachers not attending the mandatory in-service residential training in their respective areas and ensure that they do so from June 30 this year. Attend the first training program.

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) of the state government is organizing residential training programs for old and newly recruited teachers.
