“We have detained two persons. They were traveling in a four-wheeler. We have seized Indian and Nepali currencies worth more than Rs 50 lakh. Counting machines were also seized from them,” said East Champaran SP Kantesh Kumar Mishra.



He said both the accused were arrested during naka checking in the area, “As per preliminary investigation, it appears to be hawala money,” S said.



Amidst the Lok Sabha elections, Bihar Police is on high alert and is continuously checking vehicles.



Voting will be held for East Champaran, West Champaran and Valmikinagar Lok Sabha constituencies on March 25 in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections.
