This decision has been taken after several complaints related to mutation of land, flats and other properties.

Confirming the development, Land Reforms and Revenue Minister Dilip Jaiswal said, “We are receiving complaints against circle officers (COs) and their subordinates for their alleged involvement in corruption and irregularities. Therefore, we have initiated a departmental inquiry against 36 officials and have also taken action against some of them.

Jaiswal further said, “Following the findings of the investigation, we have directed the department to suspend a circle officer named Prince Raj with immediate effect. Departmental action will also be taken against Prabhash Narayan Lal, who retired earlier. Apart from them, the subordinate officers who committed irregularities in the registration and rejection of land were also suspended.

"The department will investigate the properties of the alleged officials and if needed, the help of the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) will also be taken," the minister said.
