On Thursday, Big B shared a poster on his Instagram celebrating the Telugu cinema icon's centenary retrospective.

He wrote in the caption, "I am happy that the Film Heritage Foundation is celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of the legend of the Indian film industry, Late Shri Akkineni Nageswara Rao, by releasing some of his films all over India.. My best wishes."

The Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) of India will celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Akkineni Nageswara Rao with a nationwide film festival. The late actor is known for his versatility, and had a career spanning over 7 decades and 250 films across the Telugu, Tamil and Hindi language cinema industries.

He was born on 20 September 1924 in Ramapuram in Krishna district of present-day Andhra Pradesh in a farming family and was the youngest of five brothers. Due to the poor economic condition of his parents, his formal education was limited to primary school education.

He started working in theater at the age of 10. She specialized in playing female characters in theatre, as women were prohibited from acting at that time.

The upcoming event is titled 'ANR 100 - Kings of the Silver Screen', and it will showcase 10 restored classics across 25 Indian cities from September 20 to September 22.

These screenings will take place in metros like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru as well as Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities including Vadodara, Jalandhar and Tumkur. The festival is a collaborative effort between the Film Heritage Foundation, Akkineni Nageswara Rao family, NFDC – National Film Archive of India and multiplex chain PVR-INOX.
