New Delhi [India], Department of Telecommunications has released the list of final bidders for spectrum auction in various band categories. The department has named Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio Infocomm as final bidders in the spectrum auction of 10,523.15 MHz. According to the listing of 5G airwaves worth Rs 96,317.65 crore across eight key bands, the earnest money deposit (EMD) amount by Airtel is Rs 1,050 crore, the EMD amount of Vodafone Idea is Rs 300 crore, and the EMD amount of Reliance Zee Infocomm Ltd is Rs 1,050 crore. Rs 3,000 crore The Department of Telecommunications has allotted 7,613 points to Airte, 2,200 points to Vodafone Idea and 21,36 points to Reliance Jio. The department had held auction of airwaves in 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 180 MHz.MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2500 MHz, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands. However, the premier 5G airwaves in the 700 MHz band were not auctioned this time as the supply has been exhausted. Additionally, companies whose licenses and spectrum calendars are expiring in 2024 and who do not have any spectrum purchased through previous auctions in particular circles or bands will also be considered as “new entrants” in the sale. Under the spectrum auction rules, DoT has set a net worth of Rs 100 crore per LSA for bidders, with the exception of Jammu and Kashmir and North-East circles where the net worth requirement is less than Rs 50 crore. -There is a need to renew its airwaves in Kashmir, Odisha, Bihar, UP (East), West Bengal and Assam.
