The Blues, who ended their 2023-24 campaign on a somber note, failing to reach the Indian Super League playoffs, welcomed former players Rahul Bheke and Lalthuammawia Ralte into the fold along with former Punjab FC left-back Mohamed Salah. Bheke, who scored the winning goal for the Blues in the 2018-19 Indian Super League campaign, returns after a successful season at Mumbai City FC, where he won the ISL Shield in 2022-23 and the ISL Cup in 2023 -24 as captain.

“It was really great to be back in Bengaluru and training today in front of our fans. We want to return all the love you have shown us today and for believing in us. I think we have assembled a very good squad for this season and I am looking forward to facing all the challenges that await us,” Zaragoza said during the interaction.

He was also present at the event and the Spanish attacker Edgar Méndez was unveiled to the fans. Méndez, who most recently played for Club Necaxa of the Mexican LigaMX, is a product of Real Madrid's Youth team and has made more than 150 appearances in La Liga during stints in Almería, Granada and Alavés. Méndez also had a three-year stint with Cruz Azul in Mexico, where he won the Copa MX: Apertura in 2018 and the Supercopa MX: and Leagues Cup titles in 2019.

“I am very happy to have signed for a club like Bengaluru FC and to have been introduced in this way in front of some of the best fans in this country, as I have been told. I'm looking forward to the preseason and next season. I hope to be able to contribute in the best possible way,” said Méndez, after being unveiled in front of the fans.

Also unveiled to fans was the attacking duo of Spanish midfielder Alberto Noguera and Argentine striker Jorge Pereyra Díaz, who played for Mumbai City FC in their victorious ISL 2023-24 campaign. With both players awaiting documentation to allow them to travel to India, the club erected giant outdoor billboards to announce their arrival at the club in front of the gathered fans on Sunday.

“It's an incredible feeling for me. I have said before that these are the best fans in the country and I am very happy to be in front of them again and represent Bengaluru FC. I have great memories of my stay here from my previous stint and I hope to create more similar moments,” said Bheke, speaking to fans during an interaction.

Bengaluru begins its 2024-25 campaign with the Durand Cup, scheduled for next month in Kolkata.
