Kolkata: More than 31 percent of the 51.17 lakh voters exercised their franchise till 1 am in the three Lok Sabha constituencies of West Bengal, an Election Commission official said on Friday.

Voting in Darjeeling, Balurghat and Raiganj Lok Sabha constituencies began at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm.

He said that Darjeeling recorded the highest turnout of 32.75 percent, while Raigan and Balurghat recorded 32.51 percent and 28.11 percent respectively.

The official said the commission has received 290 complaints so far, most of which relate to malfunctioning EVs.

A total of 47 candidates, including state BJP president Sukant Majumdar, are in the fray for three seats in the second phase.
