The highest deployment will be in Baghda, with 960 personnel for polling stations and 192 personnel for QRT. Ranaghat South will come up with 900 personnel for polling stations and 180 personnel for QRT.

The deployment for two other assembly constituencies namely Maniktala in Kolkata and Raiganj in North Dinajpur district will be comparatively less.

In case of Raiganj, 672 personnel will be deployed at polling stations and 192 personnel for QRT. For Maniktala, 720 personnel will be deployed for polling stations and 144 for QRT.

Insiders in the CEO office said that in the by-elections, special attention was paid to effective use of QRT in the backdrop of complaints of floods in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, where there was tension over late arrival of such teams in areas. ,

“This time the Commission is strict that such complaints do not happen again. Therefore the deployment of CAPFs at the booth level and for QRT will be much higher than the limited areas falling under these four assembly constituencies,” said an official from the CEO office.

According to the 2021 assembly election data and assembly-wise results of the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is comfortably in position in Raiganj, Bagdah and Ranaghat South, while the Trinamool has the lead in Maniktala.
