Mumbai, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Saturday said that financial assistance under the special assistance schemes of the Maharashtra government will be deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on the 5th of every month.

These include Shravanbal Seva State Pension Scheme, Sanjay Gandhi Base Grant Scheme and other schemes for the disabled.

"The State Government has launched various schemes for the general public, the underprivileged and the economically weaker sections. It is necessary that the eligible beneficiaries get the benefits of these schemes on time. Instructions will be given to deposit the funds of all the special assistance schemes. " into the accounts of the beneficiaries on the 5th of every month,” he said.

Pawar, who holds the finance portfolio in the Eknath Shinde government, was replying to a question raised by MLA Bachchu Kadu in the Assembly regarding the delay in providing financial assistance to weaker sections.

"Discussion will be held with Secretaries of the Finance Department to understand the factual position.
