New Delhi, Ahead of the monsoon, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has so far surveyed over 17.94 lakh houses, of which four have been identified in the "dangerous condition" category and need "urgent repairs".

The MCD has so far completed its annual process for about 64 per cent of the houses in its zones.

The exercise has been completed in areas like South Zone and 98.73 percent work has been completed in Karol Bagh.

According to the report compiled till June 18, the highest number of 2,41,931 households were surveyed in Najafgarh zone, followed by 2,37,118 in the South zone and 2,12,811 in the Central zone.

According to the report, one house in Shahdara South zone was identified as needing repairs under A (maintenance) category and three houses were identified under B (building) category in Rohini zone.

The civic body has also identified four buildings marked in the hazardous category in Shahdara South area which are on the verge of collapse.

These buildings were identified over a 14-day period in the survey conducted between June 1 and June 14, data from the report shows.

Civic officials declined to provide details of the action taken against the identified dangerous and unrepairable buildings.

The process of identifying more such buildings is currently underway to avoid any untoward incident during the rainy season.

According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon is expected to arrive in Delhi by the end of this month.

There are a total of 27,66,198 houses in the 12 zones under the jurisdiction of MCD.

The civic body had completed the survey of about 12.19 houses till May 31.

The data shows that the MCD surveyed 5,74,198 households over a period of 14 days this month.
