New Delhi [India], Former Chief Minister and MP from Haveri-Gadag constituency Basavaraj Bommai has requested Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to upgrade the Ilkal-Karwar State Highway to a National Highway.

Bommai met Gadkari on Wednesday and expressed pride in his tenure as Karnataka chief minister. He highlighted the transformational changes in Karnataka's road and highway infrastructure.

Additionally, he also discussed with Gadkari the implementation of Gajendragarh Ring Road and Gadag Ring Road projects in Ron taluk.

Chikballapur MP Dr. Sudhakar was also present on this occasion.

On June 27, Nitin Gadkari reviewed the progress of ongoing National Highway projects in Odisha with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and senior officials.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also met Gadkari in New Delhi for a meeting focused on ongoing and proposed projects to increase road connectivity in Uttarakhand.

Dhami stressed the importance of improving road infrastructure in the state. He also requested Gadkari to issue notification for the six routes which were given in-principle national highway status in 2016.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nitin Gadkari took over as the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways for the third consecutive time.
