MUMBAI: Baggage clearance and digi travel services at the Delhi International Airport were "briefly" affected on Monday due to voltage imbalance from the power grid supplier, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said.

DIAL also said it has proactively switched all terminals to diesel generator (DG) load to maintain essential services.

"Today (Monday) around 2 pm, the Main Receiving Sub-Station (MRSS) of Delhi Airport detected a significant voltage spike in the grid, which was reportedly due to tripping of 765 KV line. This voltage imbalance "This had a temporary impact on all IGI terminals, affecting baggage acceptance and e-gates," a DIAL spokesperson said in a statement.

To maintain essential services, DIAL proactively switched all terminals to DG load, it said and added that the airport's power back-up system was operational within minutes, and at all touch points. All back-up procedures were initiated for the convenience of passengers.

"By 3:00 pm, the grid voltage had stabilized and was accepted at the MRSS breaker and all services smoothly shifted back from DG load to DTL grid load, and disconnected the DG supply," the spokesperson said. Went."
