He said early intervention not only increases the chances of successful treatment but also helps patients maintain a better quality of life.

Dr Manish Vaish, senior director of neurosurgery at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Vaishali, said Globocan 2020 data estimates 2,51,329 deaths due to brain and central nervous system tumors in India.

Dr Vaish said brain tumors can be latent and early symptoms often feel like everyday problems that one can ignore. New or worsening headaches, especially worse in the morning and accompanied by nausea, can be a red flag, she said."Difficulty concentrating, speaking clearly, or not being able to understand others may be signs of a problem. Pay attention to changes in personality, weakness on one side of the body, or blurred vision.

"Even minor dizziness or balance problems should not be ignored. If you persistently experience any of these symptoms, do not hesitate to see a doctor," he said.

Early detection of brain tumors is important for better chances of successful treatment.“Remember, a little awareness can make a big difference,” he said.

Dr. Yashpal Singh Bundela, Senior Consultant, Sushruta Brain and Spine, New Delhi, said that diagnosis of brain tumor can be scary, but early detection is the key to a brighter future. The earlier a person detects a tumor, the more treatment options become available, he said.

He said that with early diagnosis, surgery can be more precise and side effects can be reduced. Additionally, radiation and medication are often more effective when the tumor is small.Although treatment may cause fatigue, weakness or altered thinking, he said, rehabilitation and support groups are available to help patients cope.

"You may need to adjust to your daily routine or work, but open communication with loved ones and employers can make the process easier. Remember, many people recover after early diagnosis of a brain tumor. Healthy Habits “By focusing on emotional well-being and staying connected, you can continue to live a fulfilling life,” said Dr. Bundela.

Brain Tumor Day serves as an important reminder of the importance of awareness, early detection and support for those affected by brain tumors.“By educating ourselves about the symptoms and seeking timely medical advice, we can improve outcomes and provide hope to many people,” Dr Vaish said.

He said, “Let us use this day to advocate for better health care, support research initiatives and extend our solidarity towards those battling brain tumors. Together, we will make a vital contribution in the fight against this devastating disease.” Can bring change."
