Bilaspur (Himachal Pradesh): Terming the attack on a person inside the court complex here as "condemnable", Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Friday said the Himachal Pradesh government will take strict action in the matter.

A man allegedly involved in the attack on a former MLA was shot dead on the premises of a court in Bilaspur on Thursday.

Sukhu said that the state government will not allow such incidents in the state and Bilaspur DGP and SP have been directed to take strict action.

He said that action will be taken against the people involved in the incident as per law.

Two men riding a motorcycle opened fire on Saurabh Patyal, one of the 13 people now facing trial for the alleged attack on Congress leader Bamber Thakur. The former MLA from Bilaspur assembly seat was allegedly attacked on February 23 this year.

One of the two attackers, Sunny Gill (34), a resident of Ludhiana, Punjab, was caught by the police on Thursday. He said that the police is also searching for the second attacker.
