Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], At least 14 schools in Gujarat's Ahmedabad received a bomb threat via email on Monday, Ahmedabad Crime Branch said. Ahmedabad Police swung into action after receiving the email and started investigation. Police did not find any suspect or explosive in any of the schools, they said, adding that police patrolling is continuing and threat emails received by schools are being investigated by Ahmedabad Police, crime branch officials said in an appeal to the public, Ahmedabad. Police said, "There is no need for anyone to panic in this matter. Stay away from any kind of rumors and false messages on social media. Remain calm and be careful. This is a threat to bomb many schools in Delhi. This came a few days after the Delhi Police received a total of 131 threatening emails. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an official statement calling the emails "hoaxes". The official release said, “There is no need to panic. The mail appears to be a hoax. Delhi Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol."
