“I have been visiting the Upper Assam region for the last few days, and I have not seen any protests on the ground. They are holding public meetings with barely 50 to 100 people,” Mallabarua said.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is contesting against joint opposition candidate Lurinjyoti Gogoi from Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat in Upper Assam.

Gogoi is a former president of All Assam Students Union (AASU) and opposition leaders are claiming that he will give a tough challenge to Sonowal.

However, Mallabarua rejected this claim as he claimed that former Assam C Sonowal would win by a huge margin.

“Sarbananda Sonowal is set to win from Dibrugarh by a margin of at least four lakh votes. Mallabarua said, Lurinjyoti Gogoi has no support on the ground.

He also said that the BJP candidate will defeat Congress' Gaurav Gogoi by a huge margin in Jorhat.

"Congress leaders will lose in Jorhat by three lakh votes," he claimed.
